When it comes to illustrations, I think of Mayumi Haryato’s drawings. Her Illustrations are so mind blowing and realistic. Mayumi born in 1983 started her career in Jakarta aged 19. She has worked with local ad agencies, magazines, bands, even filmmakers.
“I don’t have a particular artist or organization I want to collaborate with. But when I worked on the SORE project, you could actually consider that a collaboration, their music and my illustration do compliment each other, I think that’s just great. And I’d love to do it again with anyone.” said Mayumi.
Mayumi didn’t particularly choose to a certain style. She only wants to know how far she can explore herself. There are some big commissioned projects coming up in her agenda but this year she wants to create more personal projects. Life pretty much influencing most of her art works. When we asked about her goals she said, she has plenty goals, but she’s more of a doer. As Mayumi says, “I don’t talk much about my plans when they are not even near launched yet! :’)”

Q. What is the first thing you think about when you wake up in the morning and the last thing before you fall a sleep?
A. When I wake up: “What time is it?” Before I sleep: “The sun is almost up, I need to sleep.”
Q. In your own words what is a normal person?
A. I’ve lived long enough and met enough people to say there’s no such thing as normal.
Q. Can you name something you can live without, but choose not to in your daily life?
A. Internet? He he.
Q. Which would you prefer to be Rotten or Fresh and why?
A. Rottenly Fresh. Because it’s freshly rotten.
